| Master Juan's Karate Makes History at 2011 USKA World Karate Championships The 2011 United States Karate Alliance World Championships was held at the Hotel InterContinental in Dallas, Texas. Competitors came from all over the world & nation to compete at this prestigious event. Some of the countries represented were Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Trinidad & Tobago and of course the USA. This event is held over a 4-day period and concludes on the last day where the World Championships Finals are held to crown USKA World Grand Champions. In the tournaments 48 history there has never been a 5-Time USKA Men’s Kumite World Grand Champion. Sensei Adrian was tied with 3 others at 4, he would be defending his title here and going for number 5. Also in the Finals was Sensei Adrian’s student and training partner Jenna Brown. Jenna just turning 18 would make this her first World Championships competing in the Adult Women’s Black Belt division. Jenna had some very tough matches in the Finals and came out on top making her the 2011 USKA Women’s World Kumite Grand Champion and breaking the record for the youngest lady to accomplish this. It was then Sensei Adrian’s turn to take the stage in the evening’s main event. Sensei Adrian Galvan would successfully defend his title and become the first ever 5-Time USKA Men’s World Kumite Grand Champion. What made this accomplishment more remarkable was just 9 weeks earlier Galvan was fighting in Europe as apart of Team USA and had his jaw broken. He was barely cleared to compete at this event. During the 4-day event Master Juan Galvan showed he still has some kick left in him as he won 1st Place in the Masters Kata Division. Overall it was a very historic event for Master Juan's Karate and something that everyone in attendance will be talking about for years to come.
